This is a booklet explaining all facets of hurricane preparedness information for Florida visitors and/or residents.
Smart 911
This is a free online service
that allows you to create a secure account. You are able to record medications,
medical history, and much other public safety information, and associate it
with phone numbers and addresses. Our Lake County Florida Communications Center links to the SMART
911 database so that when you call, all of the registered information is
automatically provided to the 911 Center. This information is then
electronically relayed to responding crews. Here is a link to their website: Smart 911Vial of Life
This program is administered by our local Lake County Sheriff's
department. This program using a medical form that is completed, printed, and
then placed into a medicine vial. That vial is then placed into your
refrigerator in plain view. There are stickers that are then applied to the
refrigerator and the front door to alert responders of its presence. Here is a
